Large Tank Welding Equipment

ABK is a leading enterprise in China that designs and manufactures automatic welding products. We have a lot of experience in the field of large tank welding equipment that can provide customers with many new solutions to help them improve the quality and efficiency of products. In early stage, we developed a new automatic welding technology and equipment for crude oil tank of Sinopec. Our automatic tank welding machine manufacturing experience in the oil tank industry has laid a foundation for the design and manufacture of other automatic welding equipment.

Welding System which enhances the productivity several times for welding of oil storage tanks, liners for reactor building of nuclear power stations. Submerged Arc welding (SAW) or Gas Metal Arc welding (GMAW) processes are used. The operator sits comfortably in the cage and supervises the weld quality in situ. Flux, flux recovery system, wire spool etc. are kept in the moving cage. Welding power source is kept on the ground. Welding power is supplied through welding cable to the welding head. The cage moves on the top edge of the circular plate with the help of special designed roller.

Automatic Girth Welder (AGW) (or 3 O'clock Welder) performs x-ray quality horizontal welds up to 20 times faster than standard manual techniques, cutting in-field welding time for storage tanks by up to 40 percent.

The Automatic Horizontal Tank Welder (girth welder or 3 O'clock welder) is a submerged arc-welding machine designed for welding the horizontal seams of oil, gas, and grain storage tanks.  Butt welds can be made on the inside or outside in either travel direction. the machine travels along the top of the tank's vertical plates and welds them to ones immediately beneath.  Safety support arms are welded on each truck to prevent the machine from falling should a wheel run off the plate edge.  The machine has a lifting eye and cable disconnects to simplify moving.  A cable support arm holds the cables clear of the scaffolding generally placed around the tank.
